USD 239 Parents as Teachers is offering free hearing screenings this month for all children living in the district ages 6 months to 5 years. Call and schedule now! Ear health is vital to optimal language development during the first 5 years of life.


Parents as Teachers will host Connect & Play time tomorrow 10-11am (blue building behind MJSHS). All families living in USD 239 with children ages birth to kindergarten entry are welcome to attend. This month we are learning about turkeys and exploring music and movement.

Fall Fest with C.A.R.E.S.



The MHS XC team concluded their season at the state meet today. All the Lions ran hard and represented their school well. The girls placed 10th as a team and Alayna Cossaart finished her career with 3 state medals by finishing 12th today. #LionPride


Joel Abell finished 40th out of 103 boys and ran his personal best time of 17:40 in the boys 5k race. #LionPride

2nd place at the National FFA Convention in meat judging. Individual honors to August 2nd place and Hayden 3rd place. Incredible honors.

Local Law Enforcement Visits Minneapolis Grade School





The kindergarten classes had visitors today. Ottawa County Deputy Vancovern and Minneapolis Police Officers spent some time with MGS Kindergarteners. They talked about being safe, using "911" and the jobs of Law Enforcement Officers. The kids looked at equipment and asked lots of questions. Thank you to the Law Enforcement and Deputy Vancovern for making it available to our kids! #minneapolisrocks
