January is School Board Recognition Month and our school district would like to thank you each of our board of education members for their incredible service to our community and our public schools.
School board members in North Ottawa County, USD 239, develop policies and make important decisions that help shape the future of our education system. They are entrusted by this community with the responsibility of an annual budget of six million dollars, 620 students, 100 employees and two buildings.
“I ask everyone to take time to thank our board members,” said Superintendent Vignery. “We are fortunate that they are willing to sacrifice their time and talents to advocate for our community and our schools. Their job is sometimes challenging and they don’t often hear words of encouragement and appreciation.
The men and women serving North Ottawa County Schools and their years of service are: Brigitte Nelson, 8-Years, Justin Abell, 8-Years, Rick Shupe, 3-Years, Tara Sanchez, 1-Year, Tyrel Owens, 1-Year, Brandon Sauers, 1-Year, and Brooke Pickrell, 1-Year.

JH wrestling practice will begin Wednesday after school, Jan. 4.
