USD 239 North Ottawa County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 8. We are working hard to move the volume of snow that fell and address the layer of ice beneath so that our staff and students can get in and out of our buildings safely. We appreciate everyone's patience.
When school resumes, please use extra caution when driving due to ice. We also ask for our students to plan for low wind chill temperatures.


Winter Storm Hits the Area:
Ottawa County received over 12 inches of snow Saturday, January 4, and Sunday, January 5, during a winter storm that struck the area.
The City of Minneapolis and Ottawa County Road Department worked hard on Saturday and Sunday to keep up with the weather, but Mother Nature had other plans. USD 239
North Ottawa County Public Schools called off school on Monday and Tuesday, January 6 and 7, due to a -17-degree wind chill and poor road conditions caused by ice and snow.
State, county, and city road crews and USD 239's Operations Department will continue to work feverishly to remove snow and ice on Monday and Tuesday. A special thank you goes out to all of the hard-working professionals!
When school resumes, please be cautious as you drive to school and walk on the sidewalks.
