USD 239 Provides Online Survey to Collect Community Input for 5-Year Strategic Plan
On Monday, January 27, USD 239 Superintendent Curtis Stevens emailed a survey link to the families of North Ottawa County Public Schools. In his email, he wrote, "Over the past several months, the school district conducted various community listening sessions in Ada, Delphos, Minneapolis, and Wells. The USD 239 Board of Education will use the information to guide the development of a five-year strategic plan. "
Despite having four positive community listening sessions, Superintendent Stevens is seeking to collect more information from patrons who could not attend one of the sessions. He stated, "I know how busy everyone gets during the school year; our community sessions provided an excellent opportunity to interact with patrons, but I also know not everyone could attend the meetings. The survey link will provide another opportunity for our families to give crucial feedback to our district."
Superintendent Stevens stated, "The survey is also on the USD 239 district webpage. Please feel free to forward the link to anyone in the community who wishes to provide feedback to our district on what we are doing well and what we need to improve. If someone would rather complete a paper survey, he or she can do so at the district office (716 E. 7th St. Minneapolis, KS)."
On February 10, the district will transition from Strategic Planning Phase 1 (Seeking Input) to Phase 2 (Setting Direction), beginning at the USD 239 Board of Education's February Meeting. Superintendent Stevens stated, "At the end of May, the board will complete the five-year strategic planning process. Next, the board will begin implementing the vision and strategic plan to guide their decision-making for the next five years."
If you would like to provide input, please use the following link. The deadline for submitting a response is February 5.
