Teacher of the Year

USD 239 North Ottawa County Public Schools proudly announces Mrs. Tarin Hauck as the 2026 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Hauck exemplifies instructional excellence, innovation, and unwavering dedication to students.

Mrs. Hauck is a Title 1 Reading Interventionist at Minneapolis Grade School. She supports students from kindergarten through sixth grade. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and a Master of Science in Education with Reading Specialist emphasis from Fort Hays State University. Throughout her career, Mrs. Hauck has served as a classroom teacher, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) coordinator, and reading interventionist. In each role, she has demonstrated a commitment to evidence-based instruction, student growth, and teacher collaboration.

As an interventionist, she leverages data-driven practices to guide instruction, empowers teachers through coaching, and fosters strong partnerships with families. Mrs. Hauck’s leadership extends beyond her classroom. Her facilitation of professional development on curriculum alignment, evidence-based instructional strategies, dyslexia, and structured literacy has impacted instructional practices across classrooms. As a district English/Language Arts committee lead, she has influenced systemwide decisions that directly benefit students. She serves as a local Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) facilitator, ensuring educators are equipped to implement structured literacy.

Dedicated to building connections between school and community, Mrs. Hauck leads an annual Title I Family Night, offers complimentary summer tutoring, and serves on the public library board. Her leadership has created opportunities for students to thrive, while her mentorship ensures lasting impact beyond her own classroom.

This honor recognizes her measurable impact on student achievement and her leadership across the district. Mrs. Hauck will represent USD 239 North Ottawa County Public Schools in the Kansas Teacher of the Year competition.
