On Wednesday, October 15, Minneapolis Junior/Senior High School hosted a dynamic Career Fair, welcoming postsecondary institutions and area employers to showcase education and training opportunities across Central Kansas. Colleges on hand included Fort Hays Tech North Central, KSU-Salina’s Drone Program, Cloud Community College’s Nursing and Wind Energy Programs, and Hutchinson Community College.

Employers offering technician training and career programs—such as Great Plains Manufacturing, The Group Training Academy (AVI from Delphos), Carrico Implement, Prairieland John Deere Institute, and Accessible Home Health—provided hands-on simulations (paint simulator pictured below) and other valuable career insights.

Superintendent Dr. Curtis Stevens shared, “We are extremely fortunate to have local and regional support from business leaders, employers, and regional colleges to help our students learn about the numerous postsecondary training and career opportunities right here in Ottawa County and Central Kansas.”

This program reflects North Ottawa County Public Schools’ vision of being a premier community inspiring all to learn, work, and thrive by being motivated, honorable, and safe. To get involved in USD 239 Career Pathways, contact Dr. Stevens at 785-392-2167 or email cstevens@usd239.org
