WICHITA, KS — The Minneapolis Junior-Senior High School Science Olympiad Division B team, made up of Cael Marsh, Henry Labes, and Will McKain, competed at the Kansas State Science Olympiad Tournament held Saturday, April 5, at Wichita State University. The team earned their spot at the state level after placing second overall at Regionals in Hays, KS.
Coach Linda Willoughby praised the event as “a great opportunity for students to expand their interests in science and see real-world applications, plus have the opportunity to experience being on a college campus.”
All three students competed strongly, with standout recognition going to Cael Marsh, who earned 3rd place in the small school division in the Scrambler event, where students design and build a car to travel a specified distance and stop without cracking an egg. Marsh also placed an impressive 4th overall in the event among competitors from 25 schools across the state.
“I’m very proud of Cael and the team and can’t wait to see what they will accomplish next year,” said Willoughby. “I also want to thank the parents and grandparents who have helped and supported these students this year."
