MJSHS Choir

At the State Large Group Competition, the Minneapolis Junior-Senior High School Concert Choir hit a high note on April 9 in Concordia, KS.

The talented ensemble impressed all three judges with their precise harmonies and exemplary performance of a song titled “Sanctus,” in which Aiden Oppenheim performed an excellent solo. The group also performed a required piece titled “Heartland.” Their hard work and dedication paid off as they received a straight “1” rating, the top honor awarded at the event.

“This group has put in countless hours of rehearsal, and I’m incredibly proud of their achievement,” said Sara Hocking, MJSHS vocal music director.

Following their standout performance, the students celebrated the performance with a visit to Daylight Donuts, enjoying some well-deserved treats before heading home.

The success marks another proud moment for the MJSHS Vocal Program, and the group looks forward to sharing their award-winning music with the community at upcoming events. North Ottawa County Public Schools is proud of our students for exhibiting Lion Pride!
