Minneapolis Jr. Sr. High Industrial Arts teacher, Mark Renfrow, is working with a new piece of equipment that he was able to purchase through the help of these three grants, Dane Hansen, Ottawa County Community Foundation, and a Perkins Grant. The new equipment purchased is a laser engraver. This engraver uses a laser which can be a lot more precise which is really good for things like doing actual pictures on wood. But also instead of just cutting into a certain material it also will burn it or etch it, depending on what material you use. This machine will give our students the ability to use this as part of their entrepreneurship opportunities.
