Our project goal is to have the students build a lasting relationship with community members.  The Golden Wheel Senior Center has graciously agreed to be a community meeting place for us.  Numerous activities both at the Golden Wheel Senior Center in Minneapolis and at  Minneapolis Grade School will foster that relationship.  Some of our planned activities together include:  art, music and movement, games, and reading.

Dates when we will meet:

October—December 2018 we will meet twice monthly:  3rd Wed. of the month @ Golden Wheel @ 1:00pm;  *4th Wed. of the month @ Minneapolis Grade School @ 2:15

MGS first grade teachers will plan all activities and provide all  materials. All we ask for is your valuable time and enthusiasm to have a positive influence in a young child’s life.  Golden Wheel Senior Center activities are tentatively planned for the 3rd Wednesday  of each month around the lunch hour.  If you plan to eat lunch at the Senior Center please call their number @ (785) 392-3338  by 9:30 a.m. on the day you want to eat.

Activities at Minneapolis Grade School will tentatively be scheduled in the afternoon for the 4th Wednesday of each month @ 2:15.

We appreciate your willingness to become involved with our students.  We look forward to watching our students’ relationships and reading skills grow.  If you have any questions, please email  one of the teachers listed on the back or call the Minneapolis Grade School at (785) 392-2111.
