Students in USD 239 now have access to their school card catalogs via the web. With the addition of the Spectrum icon to the school website, students and teachers have access to the card catalog of the Minneapolis Grade School and the Minneapolis Junior-Senior High School.
"Last year we automated the grade school library and now with both schools using an automated catalog system, the district believed it was important for students, parents and teachers to have access to it from home," stated librarian Leslie Baker.
The catalog allows you to see what materials are available for check out, and which district library the resource is located in. A patron may search by title, author, subject and keyword. Finally, the catalog indicates whether or not the book is currently available or if it is checked out.
"When doing research or looking for a book for reading pleasure, USD 239 patrons can now know right away if something is available to them. Also, teachers working from home can put together units and find out which resources are available to them," commented Baker.
Spectrum is providing access at both school and home via any internet-connected computer. Simply go to the school website at www.usd239.org and click on the Spectrum icon on the right-hand side of the page.
