Math Students Bring Home 2nd Place Trophy

MHS math students competed in the Ft. Hays Math Relays on Thursday, November 12. As a school, Minneapolis brought home the 2nd place trophy for the 2A/3A division and placed 5th overall from 1A to 6A.
The Trigonometry team of Corey Egger, Macy Root, and Andrew Yoxall placed 8th out of 21 teams. MHS Math Instructor Cynthia Beall stated that, "these students won't take trig until their junior year, so they did an outstanding job as sophomores competing against juniors!"
In
Number Sense, Quinton Church took 2nd, Colby Berry 3rd, and Tanner
Davis 5th. The team of Vyctorya Allison, Luke Eckert and
Lydia Swisher placed 4th, and the team of Corey, Dina Lyne, and
Andrew placed 5th.
In Algebraic Manipulation, Tanner took 2nd, the team of Vyctorya,
Colby, and Lydia placed 6th, and the team of Quinton, Corey, and
Andrew placed 6th.
In Geometry, Dina placed 3rd, Macy 10th, Tanner 10th, and Spencer
Roy 10th. The team of Colby, Luke, and Lydia placed 2nd, and
team of Quinton, Corey, and Andrew placed 7th.
In Applications of Algebra, Colby took 6th, Spencer 6th, Quinton
7th, the team of Luke, Macy, and Lydia 7th, and the team of Tanner,
Corey, and Dina 7th.
In Calculations with a Calculator, Macy placed 1st, Tanner 4th, the team of Vyctorya, Colby, and Luke 3rd, and the team of Quinton, Dina, and Andrew 4th.
