Cross Country Team Places at Beloit

The MHS Cross Country Team travelled to Beloit for their meet on October 3, 2009. The Lions Boys Team placed 2nd, behind Clay Center in the 12 team competition. Medaling for the Lions were: Garrett Daugherty - 5th place in 17:30.85, Collin Trickle - 6th in 17:31.53, Dillon Hackett - 9th in 17:50.05. Other scorers for the Lions were: Logan Wedel - 30th in 19:08.70, Weston Penn - 50th in 20:41.43, and the 6th runner for the Lions Varsity was John Corman - 58th in 21:01.38. Running in the JV race, Isaac Kuder medaled at 17th in 20:45.96. Other runners for the JV were: Spencer Roy - 30th in 21.43.16, Corey Egger - 33rd in 21:58.83 and Kyle Egger - 39th in 22:28.
The Girls Team placed 4th as a team. Medaling for the girls were: Anna Trahan - 3rd in 16:47.62 and Shelbi Hamilton - 10th in 17:29.6.
"The wind was fierce that day, but the team still put in some good times and toughed it out," said Coach Dina Giles. "Once again, I was very pleased with their performance."
The next meets for the MHS XC team will be Ellsworth at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6th, and their League Meet at Downs on October 15th at 4 p.m.
