MHS Dance Team Debuts at First Home Football Game
by Morgan Halderson
September 30, 2009
The Minneapolis High School Dance Team kicked off the half time entertainment at the first home football game against Valley Heights.
Dancers consist of seniors Dieja Martin, Kendall Perry, Emily Rankin, and Morgan Halderson. Juniors are Mackenzie Mortimer and Emma Giles. The lone freshman is Anna Trahan.
The first dance was to “Thunderstruck” by ACDC. Mortimer reflects on Friday's performance. "We were all really nervous and excited before going out on the field. All of our long morning practices definitely paid off in the end."
The next routine was on Friday night during half time of the Southeast of Saline game. Anticipating that performance, a member said, "I'm really pumped; I think the crowd is really going to like the next one."
The team is bringing back memories for adults with a mix of songs brought together to make the 80's a hairband flashback.
