Minneapolis Forensics Team Places 1st

The Minneapolis High School Forensics Team competed in the Sylvan Grove Invitational on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Thirteen schools were in attendance. Minneapoils placed 1st with 100 points, Rock Hills placed 2nd with 97 points, and Tipton placed 3rd with 87 points.
Individual Medal Winners were:
Prose: Kendall Perry- 1st
Poetry: Caleb Kindall- 2nd
Humorous Solo Acting: Kendall Perry- 2nd, and Kaitlyn Cassel- 4th
Serious Solo Acting: Meredith Clark- 3rd
Duet Acting: Hunter Clark and Quenton Church- 3rd, and Jessi Walker and Christian Orzano- 5th
Informative Speech: Kylen Laws- 1st, Meredith Clark- 2nd, and Lydia Swisher- 3rd
Original Oration: Charlie Lynn- 3rd, Christian Orzano- 4th, and Quenton Church- 5th
Others competing and earning sweepstakes points were: Keith Allen, Spencer Roy, Kenzie Zimmerman, Holly Gehrke, Julie Gavin, Brigette Jarrel, Chayla Parsons, and Stelle Parsons.
" I was pleased with the effort of the students for this first tournament. We have some work to do, but I am excited about the talent of this year's team.," commented Mrs. Bergman. The team will compete at Smoky Valley on January 30 and SES on February 13.
