FFA Places Second in District Entomology Contest

The Minneapolis High School Ag students placed second in the North Central District Entomology career development event held September 16 at Republic County High School. Seven schools participated in the event.
Bringing
home medals were Tanner Davis 4th, Kassi Smith 5th, Garrett
Daugherty and Jake Eckert tied for 7th, Garrett Pounds and Jacy
Crosson tied for 8th and Zac Rathbun 9th out of 59 contestants.
Also participating were Tyler Davis, Riley Baker, Trevor
Girard, Ashlyn Macy, Cameron Walker, Cody Hamm, Mike Sjolander, and
Kelsie Paige.
Of the seven schools, Linn scored 393 points for 1st place. Minneapolis came in 2nd with 366 points, and Salina was 3rd place with 243 points. Contestants identified 50 insects and took a written test over integrated pest management practices and insect habitats.
