Twenty-five students participated in the tractor safety school held at Minneapolis Jr- Sr High School on March 20 and 21. The training provides youth with basic safety precautions that are necessary for the safe operation of tractors and farm equipment. This training allows 14 and 15 year olds to be certified to work on a farm for someone other than their parents.
The course was taught by Jerry Schmidt, MJSHS Ag Instructor, and Drew Obermeyer, MJSHS Student Intern. For the driving session of the course, tractors were provided by Lott Implement, Inc. and Concordia Tractor, Inc. Jamie Rice with CTI assisted with the driving session of the course.
