Fourth grade students from the classes of Mrs. Brubaker, Mrs. Wedel, and Mr. Feldt are working on a quilt to be auctioned off at the annual Minneapolis Grade School Carnival on Saturday. Parents Diana Lott and Beth Nace put the blocks together for the students.
The students ironed their picture onto the block, signed their name on their block, and then sewed the border and binding onto the quilt using a sewing machine. Students then tied the quilt. Each class also made a pillowcase representing the theme of the carnival, "Under the Sea.” These also will be auctioned off at 9:00 pm on Saturday night.
The carnival and silent auction will run from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, followed by the live quilt auction. Tickets are available at the door on Saturday.
