FFA Dairy Foods Team Places Second

The North Central District FFA Dairy Foods career development event, CDE, was held January 31 in Manhattan, Kansas. The team finished 2nd out of 13 schools. Analena Simmons placed 1st, Diedre Aurand placed 4th, and Amber Buckles placed 5th out of 91 contestants. Other students competing were Jessica Smith, Katie Nichols, and Johnathan Reid. Students evaluated five milk samples to determine their off-flavors, identified five cheese varieties, graded four milk samples using the California mastitis test method, evaluated two milker units, three artificial/real products, and took a written test.
