MJH Accepts Challenge of Bennington JH Student Council
by Colette Henderson
November 13, 2007
The Bennington Junior High Student Council, on behalf of the student body and community, challenged the Minneapolis Junior High to a Food Collection Drive.
Beginning at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 13, junior high students are asked to donate food items for the Ottawa County Love, Inc. food pantry.
The losing school's principal will be dressed in the winning school's colors and the losing school will also provide students to serve and clean up at lunch at the winning school.
We have accepted that challenge and ask that the community join us in that support.
A list of acceptable items is as follows:
| baking mix (Bisquick, Jiffy) | milk, powdered or canned |
| beans | noodles (ramen & others) |
| cereal (hot or cold) | crackers |
| flour | oatmeal |
| fruit (canned) | pasta |
| gelatin or pudding mix | rice |
| macaroni & cheese | salad dressing (Ranch, French) |
| mayonnaise | shortening and vegetable oil |
| meats, tuna or salmon (canned) | soups (canned) |
| sugar - regular, brown, powdered | syrup |
| cleaning supplies, i.e. Pine-sol | diapers, size #4 & #5 |
| facial tissue | dishwashing detergent (liquid) |
Items can be left with Mrs. Henderson at the junior high.
Thank you for your support!!!
