Wireless Lab at MGS

by Deb Brubaker

September 03, 2005

Recently, Fourth and Fifth Grade students at MGS were introduced to the wireless mobile lab. MGS has two mobile labs consisting of ten laptop computers per lab. Students work in pairs on the laptops.  Students have explored the school's web site, the school's weather page, and several Internet sites.  They have accessed web quest and have also done word processing.  Several classrooms have completed projects and have displayed them in the hallway.  Deb Millikan and Linda Loder, from Smoky Hill Education Service Center, assisted for two days in the Fourth and Fifth Grade classrooms helping teachers and students with projects. Smoky Hill will continue to provide training and support through the first semester of school. The students and teachers have really enjoyed working with this new technology and look forward to using the new laptops for upcoming projects.
