I am proud to have attended USD 239 public schools from K-12. My wife and I both graduated from MHS in 1997, and Emporia State University in 2002. I taught and coached for two years at Sabetha High School before moving on to Patton Junior High on Fort Leavenworth in pursuit of our goal of teaching overseas. After two years at Patton, we accepted positions at Guamaní Private School in Guayama, Puerto Rico. It was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend. To live in another culture is truly life-changing. After teaching in Puerto Rico for two years, we returned to Leavenworth where our son Cael was born in 2009. I taught and coached at Pleasant Ridge High School for eight years. When the opportunity to move back home arrived, we ceased it. I am very happy to be back, and to have our son go through the school system that gave me so much and started me on my life's journey. I look forward to teaching, coaching, and guiding the children of our district for many years to come!
